Holy Martyr Agapius and the seven martyrs with him

A Christian from Gaza who, together with seven other confessors, was beheaded at Caesarea in Palestine during Diocletian's persecution in the early 4th century.

Biography

Agapius came from Gaza in Palestine and was martyred together with seven other Christians — Timolaus, two men named Dionysius, the subdeacon Romulus, Plesius, and two men named Alexander — during the persecution of Diocletian.

They were brought before Urban, governor of Caesarea, where they openly confessed Christ, undeterred by the governor's attempts to entice or intimidate them. All were beheaded, leaving other Christians an example of courage.
