Martyr whom tradition names as the wife of the emperor Diocletian.
Biography
Tradition identifies Alexandra with the wife of Emperor Diocletian. According to the Life of Saint George, she witnessed his martyrdom, came to believe in Christ and openly professed her faith.
Diocletian had her imprisoned at Nicomedia and condemned to death. On the way to her execution, tradition says, she asked to rest near the place of George's martyrdom and there peacefully gave up her spirit.
She is commemorated together with her attendants Apollo, Isaac and Codratus, who died in the same persecution.
