Member of the Areopagus who, according to Acts, believed after the Apostle Paul's speech; patron saint of Athens.

Biography

According to the Acts of the Apostles, Dionysius was a member of the Areopagus in Athens who came to believe after the Apostle Paul spoke there.

Tradition names him as a bishop of Athens. He is a patron saint of Athens together with Saint Philothei.
