Saint Eustathius the Great Martyr
Roman general (originally named Placidas) martyred together with his family.
Biography
According to tradition, Placidas was a Roman general who became a Christian after a vision of a stag with a cross between its antlers. At baptism he took the name Eustathius.
He was martyred in the second century together with his wife Theopiste and their sons Agapius and Theopistus.
