Saint Herodion the Apostle
One of the Seventy Apostles and a co-worker of Peter, who became bishop of Patras and was martyred.
Biography
Herodion belonged to the circle of the Seventy Apostles and, after Christ's Ascension, devoted himself to spreading the Gospel as a co-worker of the Twelve, especially the Apostle Peter. He is mentioned by the Apostle Paul in the Letter to the Romans as a kinsman.
After the martyrdom of the First-Called Apostle Andrew he became bishop of Patras. For his Christian activity he was arrested by Jews and pagans, who beat him, stoned him and finally put him to the sword, sealing his faith with martyrdom.
