Saint Marina the Great Martyr
Great martyr from Antioch in Pisidia, known in the West as Saint Margaret.
Biography
According to tradition, Marina was born in Antioch of Pisidia, the daughter of a pagan priest. She confessed her faith as a young girl and was martyred in the late third or early fourth century.
She is one of the best-loved saints in Greece; on 17 July many villages and islands hold festivals in her honour.
