Saint Spyridon of Trimythous
Bishop of Trimythous in Cyprus and patron saint of Corfu.
Biography
Spyridon was a shepherd from Cyprus who became bishop of Trimythous. According to tradition he took part in the First Ecumenical Council at Nicaea (325).
His relics were brought from Constantinople to Corfu in the fifteenth century and are kept in his church in the town. He is the island's patron saint, and many Corfiots bear his name.
