Saint Thomas the Apostle
One of the Twelve, known for touching the wounds of the risen Christ.
Biography
Thomas, called Didymus (the Twin), was one of the Twelve Apostles. According to the Gospel of John, he would not believe in the Resurrection until he had seen and touched Christ's wounds.
Tradition holds that he preached as far as India, where he was martyred. He is commemorated on 6 October and on the Sunday after Easter (Thomas Sunday).
