Saints Andronicus and Junia the Apostles
Apostles of the Seventy and kinsfolk of the Apostle Paul, who in his Letter to the Romans calls them 'outstanding among the apostles'.
Biography
Andronicus and Junia belong to the Seventy Apostles and worked alongside the Apostle Paul in preaching the Gospel, even sharing imprisonment with him.
In his Epistle to the Romans (16:7) Paul greets them by name as his kinsfolk, calling them 'outstanding among the apostles' and noting that they had come to believe in Christ even before he did.
They are also commemorated on 30 July, a day for which more information survives specifically about Andronicus.
