Saints Riginos and Orestes of Cyprus
Martyrs put to death near Limassol in Cyprus, where their memory is chiefly honoured.
Biography
Riginos and Orestes are not mentioned in the older Synaxaria; what is known of them comes from a liturgical service published in Limassol in 1902. According to it, they came from Chalcedon - or more likely Carthage - where they were arrested and imprisoned for being Christians.
When they were released, they fled to Cyprus, where, near Limassol, they were martyred by pagans for their faith; it is there that their memory has chiefly been honoured ever since.
