Saint Gregory of Nyssa
Bishop of Nyssa, brother of Basil the Great, and one of the Cappadocian Fathers.
Biography
Gregory was born around 335 in Neocaesarea of Pontus, the younger brother of Basil the Great, and received the same deep education. He became bishop of Nyssa and, with Basil and their friend Gregory the Theologian, is counted among the Cappadocian Fathers.
He contributed significantly to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity and took part in the Second Ecumenical Council. In his youth he had married Theosebia, who died young, and he died around 394.
