Biography
Myron came from Avrakia in Crete, near Knossos. He married and worked as a farmer, always giving part of his harvest to the poor — the more he gave away, the more his crops increased.
According to tradition, when he once caught thieves stealing grain from his storehouse, instead of chasing them off he helped them carry the sacks. For his virtue he was ordained priest and, once the persecution of Christians ended, became bishop of Crete.
As bishop he became known for many miracles; according to tradition, he once halted the flow of the flooded Triton river in order to cross it. He died at the age of a hundred.
